The Albany Community Foundation (ACF) is a locally built, community-led organisation dedicated to bringing people together to strengthen our region since 2014. We connect generosity with need, support those facing hardship, and invest in initiatives that spark meaningful change to address local needs. By building a legacy of generosity and impact, we’re creating a foundation that will support our community for generations to come.

Based in Albany, we serve the broader Great Southern region of Western Australia. Our work is grounded in local knowledge, driven by community priorities, and focused on place-based solutions.

OUR HISTORY
Back in 2014, a group of passionate locals shared an idea of contributing directly to the Albany Community to support people who had fallen on hard times through no fault of their own. It was envisaged that this would be achieved through a vehicle where donors would contribute to a transparent and efficiently run local charity.
It was considered of utmost importance that donors were guaranteed that their funds would be directly given back to the community. Of high importance was the creation of guidelines that facilitated funding to flow to recipients without red tape, and identifying and assisting recipients who have demonstrated a willingness to help themselves, but who lacked the financial capacity to do so. From this simple vision the ACF was born!

A community should be a great place to live, work and grow. The ACF has a long term vision of becoming a well-recognised and well patronised foundation that is a leading organisation in promoting the philanthropic sectors throughout Albany and the Great Southern Region, a foundation that can leave a proud legacy of strong support within the community.
OUR UNIQUE FOCUS
Targeted support to individuals with a genuine need for assistance, who have demonstrated a willingness to help themselves.
Supported applications are for identified gaps in other existing funding.
All donated funds stay within the Great Southern Region and end up back in the Community.
Donors and supporters get unbridled access to the inner workings of the ACF, meaning 100% transparency is offered in ACF’s governance, financial affairs and day to day operations.
Uniquely placed to bring together existing charities, service organisations, donors, recipients and the broader community to work together to achieve better outcomes for the community.
Diversity of fundraising options including; membership, one off donations, corporate sponsorship, workplace giving, charity events, auction items, grants etc
